Michael Obrand was the Former General Counsel for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Company in Southern California. While in Telluride, Colorado, Mr. Obrand also served for three years as a member of the San Miguel County Planning Commission. He also served for approximately one year as the Executive Director of the San Miguel Regional Housing Authority and Acting Director of the Telluride Housing Authority.
In the fall of 2012, Jesse and Michael successfully defended Coldwell Banker in a complex 5-week jury trial in downtown Los Angeles. Jesse and Michael also represented Coldwell Banker in the subsequent appeal of that ruling, ultimately obtaining a six figure award in attorney’s fees for Coldwell Banker.
In July 2017, Jesse, with Michael’s assistance, successfully defended Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, as well as its branch manager and agent, in a multi-week jury trial in Orange County where the plaintiff was requesting over $3 million in damages for alleged fraud/non-disclosure in the sale of residential property. Shortly thereafter in August 2017, Jesse obtained another defense verdict for Berkshire and its agent in a lawsuit filed in Santa Barbara Superior Court where the plaintiff was requesting over $7 million in damages for alleged breach of fiduciary duties.
Jesse currently represents Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties and their real estate agents in various real estate related litigation in Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Other than a loss that should probably be on Michael’s record, and is in fact still a serious point of contention at the family dinner table, Jesse also boasts an unblemished trial record.
